I recently had the opportunity to appear alongside Anton Du Beke on “This Morning” to demonstrate Christmas wreath making. We had a great time and Anton was more than happy with his finished wreath!
We filmed together for about three hours and there was a lot of stopping and starting – Phoebe, the producer explained that they would put our two minutes of film together from all the “shots” that they took.
Beginning with the mossing up of a wreath ring, we wired in the greenery and then wired all the decorations to be added. for Anton’s wreath, we chose a traditional collection of cones, dried fruit and nuts although I would say that Anton was most kean on adding the glitter at the end. Strictly Come Dancing and glitter go together!
This event was the highlight of my year and Anton was brilliant to work with. He was so relaxed and funny that it felt like I was filming with a friend. The finished Christmas wreath was displayed on Anton’s door all over Christmas and I am hoping that he will come back to The Garden Room this year to learn how to make a table centrepiece with glitter, baubles and all!
