wedding florist amersham

I have known Katy since she was a little girl and her mum even longer and I always hoped to be Katy’s wedding florist one day!  The first anniversary just passed, Katy and Matt now have lovely Alexander to complete their family.

Katy’s invitations were designed by her dad as train tickets (the orange fitted the colour scheme nicely) and the guest tables were named after stations.  No trainspotters, Katy and Matt still have the tube map they used for their table plan hanging on their wall at home today - a nice momento of the occasion.

Katy picked sunny colours for her wedding bouquet - fitting her personality we think.  Ranunculus with Geminis, Tanecetum, Bupleurum, Lissianthus and Veronica created the country look Katy was looking for.

Katy and Matt’s wedding ceremony and reception was held at The Kings Chapel in Amersham – we have said much about this venue in the past but it remains a firm favourite of ours for all sorts of reasons.  The staff are lovely and amazingly helpful , the venue itself is unique and you get exclusive use of this historic chapel which dates back to the 18th century.

We made hoops of flowers to hang from the balcony.

Tip: A first for us we used children’s  gymnastic hoops covered in pipe insulation as a base.  We then wrapped the hoops in organza ribbon, wound them with foliage and added silk gerbera flowers so that they would last the day and the evening.  Finished with a hessian bow, the hoops were tied to the balcony showing on one side for the ceremony and then flipped over for the reception

And so the moment arrives.....

Orange Gemini’s were added to the table centre flower bowls above.

Emily, Katy’s daughter was just old enough to hold one of our wands above which we make for little hands and to compliment the colours chosen for the wedding bouquets.

weddings Kings Chapel

I have created the wedding flowers for many weddings at The Kings Chapel so it was great to be a guest at last.  The evening was fabulous and we danced until late enjoying some of the lovely cake that Katy’s mum had made.

Tip:  Katy's mum went on a cup cake making and decorating course to learn how to do these - great job Gill!

Some lovely words from Katy....

The flowers for my wedding were absolutely beautiful;  the bouquets, the buttonholes, the table decorations and the venue decorations! Debby could not have done more for my day and I was so grateful. Her ideas were stunning and so much more than I could have hoped. The table decorations were also done so family guests had flowers they could take home which was lovely too. We have just got the photos back and the flowers look stunning in those too and brought a huge smile to my face!

Thank you Katy and Matt for sharing your special day with us  and all the best to you both for a long and happy live together.
